"The Sippy Cups' brand of cosmic rock & roll has to be seen to be believed. 'The Time Machine' is good, but you absolutely have to experience The Sippy Cups live..." -- About.com Guide to Children's Music
National "kindie-rock" sensation The Sippy Cups will kick off their national Time Machine 2009 Tour on September 27 in Mountain View, CA, near their San Francisco home base. The latest show from the band features original material from their third full-length CD, The Time Machine, as well as time-tested cult classics from the likes of The Beatles and The Ramones. Sippy fans and new admirers won't be disappointed with their spectacular live show, which includes such wonders as giant balloons, confetti cannons, aerialists and costumed characters which bring the songs to vivid, colorful life. The band's itinerary includes performances in New York, Los Angeles, Albany and other markets. See reverse for a complete list of dates.
The Time Machine track "Seven is the New 14" hit #1 on Sirius XM Radio's "Kids Place Live" in August and was recently the first-ever free "Discovery Download" in the Children's Music genre on the iTunes Music Store, receiving 90,000 downloads in one week.
The Sippy Cups were formed at a 2004 community fundraiser, just three musical dads playing kid-friendly takes on Nirvana and Syd Barrett tunes. Five years later, they've performed their sophisticated (and cool-parent-approved) kids' music at major concert halls and rock festivals, including the Austin City Limits Festival and Lollapalooza.
When The Sippy Cups began writing the songs that would become The Time Machine, they noticed that they all seemed to be about growing up and changing. Even the music was becoming a bit more sophisticated and edgy. It became apparent to them that both their own children, and their audience, had grown up some since their last album, and their older fans could grow with the music, even as they greeted a new audience of the pre-schoolers the band has always played for.
"This innovative San Francisco band doesn't just play rock and roll, it plays WITH rock and roll, adding mischievous layers to a classic punk-funk sound."
-- Cookie Magazine
"The Sippy Cups have developed into one of the most adventurous kids bands on today's scene. With a strong catalog of songs and an energetic live show, they seem set to be around making music for years to come. The Time Machine is, appropriately enough, evidence of their continuing evolution, and shows that growing up is usually a pretty good thing."

"With a blend of alternative rock, folk, and electronica, this San Francisco Bay Area band famous for its circus-style performances, is geared to supplying modern and hip tracks for their audiences to dance to.... For listeners growing tired of the same old kid's offerings, the Sippy Cups offer the perfect antidote with fresh, rock-inspired tunes."
